Back in 2021 I created a movie style one sheet poster for John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic...Halloween. Halloween is my favorite horror movie of all time! I watched it at the right age and it just stuck.
So I wanted to create a set of Halloween posters starting with 1978 and finishing with Halloween Ends. And last year, I did just that. I was happy with the set over all, but there were some things I would change now if I were to do them all again. This poster is very much a product of inexperience in my poster design. And unfortunately I had to carry certain design choices made in this poster though the rest of the set. Im happy with this, but I would do it differently if I do it a again.
Halloween is a 1978 independent slasher film directed and scored by John Carpenter, co-written with producer Debra Hill, and starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis in her film debut. The plot tells about a mental patient who was committed to a sanitarium for murdering his babysitting teenage sister on Halloween night when he was six years old. Fifteen years later, he escapes and returns to his hometown, where he stalks a female babysitter and her friends, while under pursuit by his psychiatrist.
